American Academy of Family Physicians (2005). Information from Your Family Doctor: Prenatal Diagnosis: Amniocentesis and CVS. American Family Physician, 72(8), 1577-8. Retrieved February 21, 2008, from Research Library database. (Document ID: 921526311).
The information I found in this article was excellent. Reading and understanding was made easy by a posed question followed by answers. The main focus of this article is the risks involved with the CVS test. A small risk of miscarriage, problems with fingers or toes, infection, and bleeding can occur. These risks increase when the procedure is done before 10 weeks of gestation or the age of the woman is higher than 35.
