In this article, the authors discuss the advantages associated with CVS. This procedure allows for early decisions of termination of the fetus or of the total pregnancy, assuaging the couple’s apprehension of a receiving a disabled child. The risk of miscarriage is anywhere from 1-6% depending on the placement of the incision. The sampling success is 99% and the accuracy is high. The time frame of the diagnosis is about 7-10 days as compared to other test which can take up to 4 weeks.
